The Alverton

"The Hotel is beautiful, and it's location, well within walking distance of the city, is perfect. All the staff were very welcoming and surprised us with a birthday card and present for my daughter which was much appreciated. Our room was on the small side and quite dusty, but the beds were very comfortable and the shower was the best I've seen for a long time! The only thing that let down our stay was the food. There was a very limited late night menu so we ordered soup, which was unfortunately very watery with not much flavour. Breakfast was also disappointing, taking over half an hour to arrive despite being just one piece of toast spread with avocado. We didn't complain as we were only there for one night, the hotel was extremely busy, and everything else was spot on. If you're thinking of staying in Truro, try the Alverton, it's a fabulous place"

"Lovely staff, good, clean room and tasty breakfast. A great place to stay! I stayed 2 nights. On the 2nd night, I'd been out all day in the rain at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary and I was tired. So I decided to eat in. I didn't realise dinner had to be reserved - my fault. Normally, I could have got something from the bar but it was 5th November and it was packed for the fireworks! Again, my fault really for not checking. Anyway, I can highly recommend the hotel and I will definitely stay again, but perhaps in the Spring when it's a bit warmer in Falmouth! 😁"

"The room was fine (not in main pub building but in separate one) but the shower room was a bit cramped. Noise from the floor above was a problem from about 5.45 am. Early risers who walked about a lot!! Restaurant was very good with good service and good food. The breakfast was excellent. Excellent location above the historic Charlestown harbour. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay."
