"Amazing hotel in Kamakura! Clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff, great restaurant, and a short walk to the beach and the main attractions. I would definitely stay here again. "
"The location is great so close to the beach and great Hawaiian restaurant. Was very hard to find the first time. Not easy to get a response from host. "

"Bushi-san was the best host. He makes the whole experience and even speaks very good English. We experienced a tsunami warning and had to cancel our flight back home. Bushi allowed us to stay another night. He was very good with the kids. He made lots of jokes, let kids try out the samurai weapons and armor, and even made shaved ice with our kids. Bushi-san makes this B&B a lively and exciting experience. The property itself is outdated with lots of random knick knacks. The futons were a little too flat and uncomfortable —feels like camping. There is a shared bathroom with all the guests. However, the people we encountered were all lovely and we clicked with them. My children had fun interacting with another family with children. I wouldn’t trade my experience with a hotel experience, which tend to be cold and impersonal. I highly recommend Bushi-san’s property for a one-of-a-kind Japan experience. "
"My wife and I wanted to “slow travel” for a few days and found this place on VRBO. It’s a 100-yr old traditional coastal home.
It is directly across the road (there is a convenient tunnel under the road) from Zaimokuza and Yuigahama beaches and there is a bus stop right outside the door for a 15 min ride to/from Kamakura Station. The #40 bus is reliable and easy. Don’t bother with a taxi.
It is also a 15-min walk to the Enoden train, which follows the coastline and goes to Hase and Enoshima for access to the area’s famous o-teras, shopping, etc.
The home has been thoughtfully renovated to include modern air conditioning, bathrooms, kitchen appliances, etc. It is set up well for beach/surfing getaways, with areas in the genkan to rinse off sand, wash/hang up wet clothes—even a sauna.
It is a traditional Japanese home with one main room that can be divided by pull down shades into sleeping areas—one area with a double bed and another with two twin beds. The beds are good quality and not futons. Bathrooms are private with walls and doors.
We visited in July, with temperatures >90 degrees F, >80% humidity, and some thunderstorms. The home was comfortable throughout our stay.
The area is charming, the people are friendly to us, and the atmosphere was laid back. We would definitely stay here again."
