"Parking is limited but easy to get too. Linen nice and clean, towels and bedding. Tea and coffee provided in room. Only problem is that twice we have visited the hotel recently and had problems with the shower, no cold water therefore water was too hot, and previously shower handle broke off. First time another room was provided, second time offered a change of room or a room for a shower, staff offered a solution. All staff very friendly. "

The staff were absolutely fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed. Nothing was too much trouble, and they really made us feel at home throughout our stay. The food was excellent, with a great selection and top-quality dishes that were clearly prepared with care. Every meal was thoroughly enjoyable and well presented. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, providing the perfect place to relax after a long day. It’s clear the team take pride in keeping everything to a high standard. Overall, a brilliant stay with a warm, friendly atmosphere. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and would highly recommend The Owl Hotel to anyone looking for great service, great food, and a comfortable stay."

"Smooth check in, lovely breakfast, hotel great, location ideal. Unfortunately traffic was loud not hotels fault and our shower tray creeked the whole time you stood on it. Would recommend for the price."

"Great communication as a self check in with a lock box, plenty of private parking next to the accommodation. Carlton Towers has a tea room within walking distance which was convenient. Room was big with everything we needed for 2 nights. Would recommend and stay again if back in the area."

"Room was clean, but hardly any storage or hanging space. Good shower with plenty of hot water. Room very nojsy at night with passing traffic. Buffet style breakfast, but no hot food. Not enough bowls for cereal, or cups for brews. Okay for a weekend away, but any longer you'll be struggling to keep your clothes tidy."

"A gorgeous little place with even lovelier owners. Nothing was too much trouble. Our dog loved it. Beds were lovely and comfy. Everything well equipped. In a great location - easy to find and easy access to York centre. Will definitely return when we visit York again."
