Room was very clean. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Bar was good, they stay open as long as there are people there. Room was small but nice and modern.
Our room with king bed was very large. Lots of space to put luggage and bathroom sink counter space was outstanding. Nice to have a small fridge in the room. Shower was good; one didn’t have to get wet to turn the water on. The toilet seat was the wrong size for bowl so that was interesting. The AC unit was super loud and impossible to just leave air in continuously vs it going on and off every 15 minutes. Did not eat or drink at the hotel.
Fantastic stay — brand new, impeccably clean, and beautifully modern. The value was outstanding; this felt like the kind of hotel experience you’d usually find at double the price. Very impressed.
All was as expected for a hotel, clean and friendly staff. Did have to ask staff for an item and there was no hesitation to provide it. Saturday night there was no parking available, but thankfully there was a lot next door that we could park in. Check in was at 4:00 instead of 3:00. We were happy to explore downtown while we waited. Overall, no problems and we were satisfied.
It is a new property, so everything works, place is very clean, it is Euro style hotel, so rooms are on the smaller side. Comfortable bed, rain head and wand in the shower. Everything spotless. Nitpicks, it took a few minutes to figure out how to turn the lights on and not just me others in my group had issues and I head others talking about it in the elevator. Curtain pulled all the way over leave a 1-inch gap so light comes in early in the am bothers some. Combo ice machine and water dispenser on each floor were tricky to use to get constant flow of water or ice. Can't get any better location .8 miles to Race trace, easy walk with chairs and coolers. Same distance to downtown Saratoga also so again you can walk if you want to many bars and restaurants. Also, if you want a full and express Stewarts convivence stores in 5 min walk from hotel. Decent size parking lot that can fill up fast, it also has limited underground parking garage at no extra charge.
The only thing I didn’t like is there wasn’t a pool. Otherwise I’d say it was perfect!
The staff were great. We spent some time at the hotel bar and the bartender Elizabeth was amazing!
While the hotel is lovely to look at and appears to be clean, we did encounter some problems worth noting. We found a large stain on the top sheet on one of the beds which was upsetting. There was never any water in the room and we were told consistently that they ran out and the supply had not been received yet. I think the biggest problem for us was the breakfast which was $22 all you can eat or as little as you can eat. We are not big eaters so spending $55 (this includes a tip) for a huge breakfast is a waste of money. I did note that other hotels offered free breakfast so that is something that would, in my mind, be beneficial to this hotel. Lastly and not highly important, there were no tissues in the tissue box, no closets except for a rack where they placed 6 hangers. The highlight of the hotel though was Conan who works at the front desk. He was very knowledgeable about restaurants, locations, directions, etc. and always approached us with a smile on his face.....a gem!
While the hotel was lovely, I had an unpleasant experience prepaying through Expedia (I paid in full through Expedia). When I checked in, when the person at the front desk asked me for my credit card, I confirmed that I had prepaid through Expedia. He told me I wasn’t being charged they just swipe and do a $50 hold for incidentals that would be temporary and would fall off after they close out when I checked out. So that is normal and typical and I had no issue with that.
Then he asked me to swipe again. I again reminded him this was prepaid and he assured me I wasn’t being charged anything. I thought maybe first swipe timed out or something. I got up to the room and saw 2 charges on my card. One for $50 and another for $330. I got in touch with my card provider and Expedia. Expedia was no help at all.
I went to the front desk and the same gentleman that checked me in was there. He called over the manager (both men were very polite) who helped me. He told me that when you prepay with Expedia, they provide the hotel with a virtual card to charge and there was an issue with Expedia’s virtual card and it was declined (even though I paid 2 weeks earlier through Expedia). After some back and forth he promised that he had cancelled the $330 charge and at midnight it would be reversed. Nothing happened and I still don’t have my refund. So beware using Expedia and prepaying. Their customer service will leave you high and dry and make you double pay.
We had a restful very comfortable evening! The front desk was very helpful with great suggestions of things to see in our short stay. Highly recommend .
It’s new and clean and the staff is friendly and attentive. Rooms are well-designed and it is a great place to stay just a short walk into the heart of town.
