The hotel is well situated near the lagoon and promenade in Maspalomas which we felt was the best resort in Gran Canaria; it is also near the main shops. It is arranged in a number of small two storey buildings throughout gardens so there s never a feeling of many people being around except for the pool area. Service is excellent and there is a high staff to guest ratio so any requests tend to be dealt with promptly and well. The bedrooms are spacious and well equipped. The food is very 'Masterchef ' style. It is well prepared and presented, but sometimes we did yearn for a roast and two veg type meal. Having said that they do have a barbecue night twice a week. The only negative is that it can become very busy and a little frantic at dinner. Whilst it runs from 7.00 to 10.30 the vast majority of diners do sit down between 7.00 and 7.15 which does put the staff under pressure All in all a very good hotel which is well run

Fabulous Hotel
La Recidencia hotel lives up to its 5 star rating in many ways. First of all the rooms are spotless and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The setting of the hotel is stunning with a fabulous pool and gardens that are almost tropical in nature. There is a poolside restaurant/bar where you can have lunch and drinks are available all day long around the poolside. The main restaurant is an open air terrace where dinner is served under the stars. There is an a la cart menu and a daily menu to choose from. Whilst the choice of dishes is not overwhelming the food is excellent and twice a week there is a BBQ style buffet which offers so much choice that the mind boggles! The same goes for breakfast, you name it and it is there. The best thing about the hotel is that it is small with just over 100 rooms so it is much more intimate unlike some of the neighbouring hotels that sport in excess of 1000 rooms! It’s difficult to find fault with the place our only comment would be that the after dinner evening entertainment could be better. This is a hotel for people who just want to chill beside the pool and be pampered. It is expensive in comparison to other hotels but it is rated as the best on the island and ultimately you get what you pay for.

A great week
A very enjoyable stay. The hotel is well run by friendly helpful staff throughout. Everything seems effortless for guests. We stayed in a standard room which was very comfortable. Restaurant and poolside bar/café great. Although you are just minutes from the beach/dunes/shopping/cafe's and restaurants, when you're in the hotel and grounds you feel you're in a very secluded part of the Island.
