"Room was clean & a great ocean view. Was disappointed that the fireplace was not working. Also the room was a little bare. Could use another chair a a small side table to sit in front of the wonderful windows looking out at the beautiful coastline. Bathroom was huge but also lacked warmth. Maybe something on the walls. Also suggesting inside security latches on the doors. We had dinner & breakfast at the restaurant. We enjoyed both meals & the staff were great"
"First, I know this a budget motel, so expectations were generally lower to start. The minimum I expect from a budget motel is the amenities they claim to have actually existing and working, a clean bathroom, and a clean comfy bed. The only positive here was the beds which were excellent, very comfortable. Everything else, not great, or bad. Phones without service, TV would not get service, toilet needed a good scrub and bleach in the bowl (looked moldy around the lime ring), fridge ran a bit warm, didn't refreeze our ice packs. The hot tub spa, which we were really looking forward to after driving and hiking all day, we were told was not working and they couldn't get a repairman out. it was hottish, but no jets and looked like the filter was not working, grey brown water. From other reviews it seems like the spa is out of order often. We asked for a couple of extra towels for the pool and were told they were out and "doing laundry". We did have 2 towels each in the room, but I hate using room towels for the pool. Carpet, floors seemed clean, shower was okay. When we checked out the next morning, and asked about the phone and the TV, the man was very curt, replying "Yes there is not phone service in any rooms and the TV has issues, you need to turn the receiver off and on". When we replied we tried that and tried to call down, but of course the phone didn't work, his answer "Well, its too, late now." It sure is, wont be staying here again and definitely wont recommend! "
"Can’t beat the location, right on the water. Can relax on your patio and watch the waves crashing. Fire pits at night, easy access to walk down to the sand. "
"Great stay. Location great for Hearst Castle and central coast . Have stayed here 4 times in last two years and will definitely stay again. Hotel is local family owned and they are helpful and friendly (witnessed them helping jump cars and guests with other issues). Beds and rooms are clean and comfortable. While they don't offer breakfast they did have coffee, apple juice, toast, croissants and fruit the mornings I stayed which was very nice and unexpected. 100% recommend."
