Cambria Hotel Lake Placid - Lakeside Resort

"Cambria is a newer hotel that did not try to provide an "Adirondack" feeling in it's room design or common areas. The room with a King bed was comfortable, the large screen TV was great but the clothes closet next to the bed was tiny and the Microwave and mini fridge were hard to reach in the enclosure under the Keurig as the bed was nearby. The bathroom shower was great, the room large with a nice sink and lighting. But no 'housekeeping' was provided for the room (we were there 5 nights) although the room cleaners in the hall did allow us to exchange for fresh towels and provided us with additional Keurigs. We were told at check in that daily housekeeping was available with an additional charge. Exterior area provided nice view of lake area. Sadly, a 'neighbor' had severed the gas line for the external fire pits so only one was active (the real wood firepit). We did find the firepit outside of the bar on the balcony and enjoyed watching sunset there. In todays world I would give this hotel a 9 out of ten. We love Lake Placid and will return!"

"Contactless check in is/was inconvenient. I don't read or answer emails/texts while on vacation. Lone housekeeper and a guest helped with my check in, I than discovered how to gain access to room. Room was okay, bathroom was fairly newly redone, Main floor had a hump and was spongy. Maybe owners should take a better walkthrough with people that know things. Contactless not for everyone. No one to help out if there is an issue. Phone number and call is not same as face to face. Call me old school cause I am. Served the purpose for one night."

"A lovely spot, even though it's squeezed in between the main road and other properties. The rooms are small but elegant in a rustic way. The main draw is the lakefront area, which is very picturesque and relaxing to hang out at. I also enjoyed taking a kayak out onto the lake, which is convenient and available free of charge (also canoes and paddleboards). The place isn't cheap, and it's a short drive away from the main part of town. But the overall experience was excellent."

"OK, look, it's not new. Nothing there is pristine, like at the Hilton I stayed at in the week before I stayed at the Ashley. However, my room was clean, the towels were plentiful, the bed was comfortable. There is a welcoming, neighborly feel about the whole property. I would definately book another stay. Indeed, I probably will do so soon."
