A beautiful hotel. Our room was lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. The ability to reserve a charging point for our EV was a lifesaver!
Food here is amazing, Make sure you book a table for dinner!
Always wanted to stay here lovely old inn ,beautiful furniture and paintings our room was really lovely ,fab breakfast and staff couldn't do enough for us .Would go again
I rated my stay very high at the Mermaid Inn because it was a special detour in the very charming city of Rye. The inn was perfectly located. The food was excellent, from delicious fish and chips on the pub to a 5 star dinner in the dining room. Keep in mind this is a very old building with crooked steps and low ceilings. It may not be suitable for everyone. Our room was adorable and very comfortable.
Lovely old quaint room without ghosts. Service in the bar and restaurants, for dinner and breakfast, was superb

Beautiful room, I bought this as an early Xmas present for my parents who loved the building, the history and location. The staff were brilliant and breakfast very good. Highly recommend
Lovely hotel in a historic building, with loads of character and great location for exploring Rye. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
As it is an old building, the bedroom was cold, however we did have a mini electric radiator in our room plus an extra blanket which helped.
The power of the shower was a bit like a trickle! I'm just glad I didn't have to wash my hair otherwise I'd still be there trying to rinse the soap out! :-D
Absolutely love staying here, the staff were great and very helpful. Would have liked a walk in shower but understand that this is not possible due to the age of property.
The Mermaid Inn is a special place. So much history around every corner. It's a really gorgeous setting, with period detail throughout. Staff were friendly and helpful, and rapidly corrected an error made during check-out. Breakfast was delicious and you can tell they use high quality ingredients in everything. I was slightly disappointed in the room: it was pretty stifling despite the weather being merely warm; the four poster bed was much smaller than a modern double and had a cobweb hanging from one corner; and the weird red polyester throws/curtains and cushions with plastic crystals jarred with the intricate carvings and beans around us. But all in all a good experience and we enjoyed our stay.
This is an ancient, historic hotel. Be mindful of the fact that you are staying here more for the character and historical significance then for the comfort. Stairways are small and steep and parking - went available at all - is challenging. That said, however, the staff is very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our one night stay.
nice place in a lovely town, the building is very old -1420, so expect low ceilings, beams etc, one downside to our room was it only had a bath, but on the whole a lovely place, didnt see any ghosts !
