The location is very close to the sea, which gives the hotel a real resort-like atmosphere. The room was very clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. "We were so lucky this hotel had a free room on the evening when our overnight ferry was cancelled with only a few hours notice. I had travelled seven hours by train and there hadn’t been a buffet cart on it so by the time I arrived I was thirsty and hungry.The very kind gentleman at reception gave me the bedroom keys , fresh milk for my cuppa tea and some breakfast cereal! The room was great with a fan and very comfy bed. We didn’t have the breakfast as we had to leave at 6 am to catch the new ferry. The free car park was great and secured Portsmouth is a pretty expensive place to stay but we felt we had good value as we do appreciate kindness, clean rooms and a comfy bed! We will be back another time to see the Mary Rose Museum and HMS Victory…. Portsmouth is a great place to learn more about naval history, great shops and Brasserie Blanc for supper was formidable!( a great start to our French holiday)"
