"A beautiful pub in a quiet village in Hampshire. Food was great and the staff were very friendly. I felt at home and will definitely stay here again when in Andover. "
"Clean room and lovely view, but wouldn’t call it a deluxe room.
Young lady who served us in the bar and restaurant made the visit more comfortable and friendly . "

"We stayed for 3 nights. Excellent staff and very comfortable bed. Delicious breakfast. The location is perfect, the view from our room was Winchester Cathedral. Parking is reasonably priced at the hotel but you need to get there early as the car park is not very large
Definitely would stay again."
"We love staying in charming country inns and The Peat Spade is an absolute pleasure! Friendliness ✅✅✅. Delicious food ✅✅✅. Attentiveness ✅✅✅. Beautiful surroundings ✅✅✅. Charm✅✅✅. It exceeds our expectations. "
"Excellent, efficient restaurant.
Only critique is the lack of a fridge in the room.
We had a fire alarm at 6:30am because someone took a shower with the bathroom door open. Despite notice on door so it must be a frequent false alarm."
"Large, very clean room. Comfortable bed and lovely bathroom with great shower. Nice toilet products to use. Plentiful, tea, coffee and biscuits provided as well as a small fridge with bottled water.
Attractive restaurant with a good range of menu options. Ate there 2 nights and the food was very good. Some excellent desserts too!
Breakfast was also very good and flexible options.
All of the staff were very polite, helpful and always happy to offer advice on local area. Their breakfast manager was incredibly knowledgeable and even shared info on the best places to park n Winchester and how to get there etc. she was a font of knowledge and had guides galore to share.
Highly recommend a stay in this lovely hotel in a quiet hamlet. There is a 2-3 minute walk to the small pond with ducks and herons if you want a gentle stroll too! "
"The George Inn was an excellent choice for our first night in England, due to its proximity to Stonehenge and the reasonable cost. All staff were attentive and helpful. We enjoyed a late afternoon walk on the country lanes of Middle Wallop. I want to mention a few things that did not bother us but may matter to other potential guests:
- Room ("the family room"): because it was directly above the pub, we could hear music clearly through the floor until the pub closed. This did not bother us. The room was snug with the sofabed mattress open. Beds were comfortable, room was clean
- The Expedia listing explicitly said that breakfast was not included in the price, but the George Inn provided us with a beautiful breakfast spread: fresh berries, yogurt, juice, coffee & tea, and a full entree off of their breakfast menu. It was a really nice surprise!"
