It's a vintage hotel so not modern but the facilities work and I was comfortable. The elevator was ancient, accommodating only 4 persons so took the steps to come down to the lobby and only used the elevator to go up.

We had a pleasant stay at the Regency Hotel. The location is excellent—just a short walk to the beach and surrounded by a variety of restaurants, making it super convenient for exploring Rio. Breakfast was a highlight, with a wide selection and good variety to suit different tastes. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, contributing to a restful stay. However, there was a minor issue with the washroom—a foul smell coming from the drainage, which we had to cover to manage. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it’s something the hotel could improve. Overall, a good stay with great amenities and a prime location. Would recommend, especially for beach lovers and foodies.

Fantastic and kind staff. The breakfast buffet was great and beyond your standard continental breakfast. Great shower water pressure! Cons: Area around the hotel is very walkable, but doesn't feel the cleanest. People don't clean up after their dogs so there was a lot of poo on the sidewalks in the whole neighborhood. The hotel is currently rennovating rooms so there was a lot of noisy construction. Our friends stayed in one of the renovated rooms which was quite cute. Our room was plain and basic even though we paid extra for a balcony (not really worth it honestly). I'm sure when renovations are complete, the rooms will feel more modern.

Couls be better but for sure I can stat there agai

We loved how close to the beach it was, like 5 min walk, the breakfast was pretty decent and fullfiling, there was farmacy, laundry mat, supermarket and so much just 5 to 10 min walks. It could be more clean, but overall I could stay there as mostly I was out enjoying Rio.

The rooms were outdated and the bed was hard. Morning staff was very nice and spoke a little English which was helpful. The plus side, right near the beach. The outside of the hotel look brand new while the rooms and hallways are being renovated and look spooky.

The hotel is very good: nice staff; great breakfast; big, comfortable, clean and big rooms. However, it is not a 4-star hotel, it misses more services and amenities like a pool and a gym, and more attention to detail (lots of unfinished works around the hotel and some small repairs needed in the room to be worth 4 stars.

Im giving 1 star because there is no option for 0 stars. The pictures dont represent the reality of the rooms. Bathroom had green and black mold on the floor, towels were stained and old, the bedroom smelled bad, the soap dispenser not working, and the toilet sank when you sit. The staff is not very welcoming, the breakfast is crowded, not big enough to support hotel capacity, and we received a call at 11 pm asking if we ordered flowers… we got suspicious and found reviews in booking stating common robbery in this hotel just a month ago, so we left. Although, is well located…
