Really lovely staff. Rio is a little sketchy, the receptionist staff gave us lots of advice to stay safe. The hotel rooms were a good size and clean. They could do with more pool loungers. The breakfast was 10/10 and the coffee machine was an extra bonus
Closet and bedside tables had quite a lot of sawdust-like remainings of some animals and spider nets i.e. they weren’t cleaned for ages. Wifi was poor as well as ventilation: air was so wet that towel didn’t never get dry. Staff were nice and helpful and understood English. Easy access to the beach.

I spent a couple of days at Copacabana Mar Hotel, i found it very clean, with staff who are always available, very friendly, and ready to help and provide information.
The location is perfect, allowing you to reach the beach or the metro in just a few minutes.
As for the building, it is quite dated and would benefit from substantial renovation and modernization. The rooms are not particularly quiet, and the beds are not the most comfortable.
The breakfast is good but could be improved with a wider selection of fruit and pastries.
No cleanning until we requested on the day we arrived, bed with a pen and sand inside.
Shower with soap on the walls.

We stayed here for a night because the airline canceled our flight and we really needed wifi to change/book/plan reservations, but wifi does not work on the upper floors.
There are 2 Peters that work here -1 is a good one and other is the rotten apple. I hope you all get the good one.
Its an outdated hotel but you will be comfortable based on your needs. Had ac and hot water, wifi gave some trouble, but i would call for assistance and they aided as best possible. Having a Tv was of no use since none of the cable channels were in English. Its central, good for walking to anything u could need, food, grocery options, beach and ideal for some tour pickups. Staff is helpful and friendly.

There was just about no wifi in the room. I heard other people complaining too so it wasn't just my room. There was a charge to use the room safe. Unbelievable! I have stayed in 100 hotels and this is the first time that this has happened.

JUST DON’T BOOK THERE!!
It all started at check-in. I thought I had paid already because the hotel should have charged the whole amount for the six day stay in two payments before I arrived. It did not for what I know now, obvious reasons … to fleece the guest!
I was asked how I wanted to pay and I paid with my Citi credit card. And that is where this scam came in. When I looked at my statement a few days later, I saw that there was a surcharge of about 12% built into the total charge that I paid.
I complained. And first they played dumb. They said they could not look up what I had paid. Nonsense!
In the end they could. And then it turned out that without me making that choice or offering me a choice, they put the charge through in USD. I just did not notice this. Watch out for the guy at the front desk (Serge).
At other places that I stayed or ate in Brazil, you are given the choice and as every experienced traveler knows, it’s always best to pay in local currency.
What a rip-off and it was not an accidental rip-off. The system was set up to default to USD, because they get a cut of the surcharge.
The room was very small. The Internet was bad and sometimes for hours not available at all. The breakfast was so-so at best.
In the end, I checked out 3 days early, because of the lousy internet etc. and because his rip-off which cost me $47 had turned me off completely.
I do not support any business with such practices.

L’emplacement : Un vrai bonheur d'être aussi proche de la plage. C’est le point fort de l’hôtel.
Le personnel : Un grand merci à l’équipe qui est très professionnelle, accueillante et véritablement à l’écoute des clients. C'est ce qui sauve l'expérience.
Les points négatifs (l'état des chambres) :
Malheureusement, la structure et l'entretien ne sont absolument pas à la hauteur du service.
rénovation :Hygiène et humidité : Présence de moisissures dans la salle de bain (joints de douche noirs, traces sur les murs et le plafond).
Vétusté : Peinture qui s'écaille, fissures importantes sur les murs et mobilier très usé (bordures de meubles abîmées).
Finitions : Les prises électriques et les interrupteurs sont encrassés ou mal fixés, et les rideaux présentent des taches.
