"This was our second stay at this fabulous, historic hotel. Food was extraordinary and the staff is terrific. The maitre de was very welcoming and gracious. Front desk staff and support staff are top notch. Well located and just a very meaningful visit. "

"I had a brilliant time at this guesthouse. The owners were so lovely, kind and helpful. The breakfast was varied and wholesome and plenty of it. The room, although dated, was large and I slept really well. It had everything you needed. It is located close to all the sights of Nikko and a nearby Onsen. A bus ride takes you easily to the lake. I wish I could have stayed longer and really recommend you staying here. The hosts are amazing."

"In a peaceful country location even though on a main road.
Just a short walk to a bus stop for both directions. Close access to Kanmangafuchi Abyss for a pleasant walk. "

"So, this hotel is quite far from the station, which is fine to enjoy nature, but there is absolutely nothing around it to get drinks or food.
So we had to use the hotel buffet for our dinner time. It was super expensive, kids must pay the same price as adults. And you need to add more money for drinks.
The web site mentions more than 30 dishes, and it's a lie. Overall the food was just ok. Really no worth the price.

"For a supposed 2 star rated hotel was well above that, on par with 3 star anywhere in Australia. Room was very comforable and bed was biggest I have ever slept in, could have fitted 4 people easy."

"The room was a little dirty. Lots of dust all over the room. No hot water in the bathroom. Only provide one towel for your trip. There’s a public bathing area downstairs. The onsen was nice. Doesn’t seem like this hotel was renovated in a while. They also only accept cash at the front desk. "

"This place was amazing! The half board dinner was incredible, the location was stunning. The mineral hot spring was just what I needed after days of traveling. Would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone and can’t wait to come back!"
"5 minute walk from the train / bus stations, shopping and dining, groceries and coin laundry. Clean room, friendly polite staff. Included breakfast not great."
"Great space, price, and staff. Area is amazing and views are stunning. One caveat will be the beds. I think the hotel should upgrade the beds because it was not so comfortable to sleep in"
