"It was a last minute booking . Good value for the money. Breakfast was excellent freshly cooked. very attentive staff. Had the pizza in the evening beautifully cooked very fresh. Ideal hotel if you want to be close to the town. Has lift so easy for people who struggle with mobility issues."

"This property is unique and rare - owned by an innkeeper who welcomes you to his table with warm hospitality and decades of history to share. Mr. Miller is a wealth of information and retired thatcher. This is not a place for you if you need a well-appointed hotel to feel good about leaving your home. This is a historic property with purbeck flag stones and Welsh slate on the kitchen floor. The stove is as wide as your arms. There are wild pheasants in the fields and silent nights nestled in a hidden valley a bit off the main road. This a place where ruins of the past sit on the land beside a welcoming farmhouse. Great for introverts, writers, couples, families, and solo travelers. Backpackers will love it."

"Had a great 6 night stay here. Check in was very easy, key safe on the wall outside. As soon as we got inside the cottage, which had a lovely warm welcoming cosy feel to it. We loved all the little extra decorations scattered around. Well stocked with plates, glasses cutlery etc.. Even some extras that we didn't expect like the smoothie blender and spice rack. Only downside was all the towels were bundled in a heap on the bathroom floor. Not sure what had happened here, whether the cleaners had forgot to collect and replace from last guests? Anyway, had to call a contact number and inform them. Was told this would be done the next day. When a guy turned up the next day he questioned us about the towels and collected the used towels but told us he didn't have any fresh towels and that he would come again tomorrow when cleaning one of the other cottages. This was a little frustrating and made us think if the bed sheets had been changed as not presented very well when first entering as had a electric blanket thrown on top. The cleaner told us the towels should of been on the bed on arrival. They did seem clean... and hoped they were. The location was great with a good pub right over the road. Easy parking and no noise at night. It does have a working farm at the back so you will hear dairy cows mooing and some sort of water/fluid pump running in the mornings. The bed was a little soft for my liking but we all have different preferences. I would stay again as such a cosy cottage"
