"Older hotel but well maintained dated. Spacious rooms on 22nd floor. Got extra luggage rack … don’t forget to ask. Breakfast was nice. They will make you omelettes and fresh eggs. Location is a 15 minute bolt ride to town. Nice place."

"Staff was so nice and helpful. Saved us from missing our train to the Duoro valley, getting us a taxi quickly after the Bolt request canceled twice. Great breakfast, with lots of options. Best orange juice :) Was nice to have snack options during the day. Welcome drink upon arrival and cookies upon departure. And location was perfect, walking distance to a lot of the main sights. Made us feel right at home."

"This was a last minute stay for us as our plans changed due to a forest fire in the Douro valley. The hotel room was very clean but unfortunately the shower didn’t work when we arrived, the fault was quickly fixed when we reported it to reception although I had to go downstairs for this as the room phone didn’t work. Breakfast was ok, it was unlabelled which made it much more difficult for me to find items to suit my dairy intolerance and I wasn’t confident in the quality of staff advice when I asked for help. I found enough food but it meant my choices were very limited. Clear allergy labelling and/ or an allergy folder or information sheet on allergens in standard items for customers would really help with this. Staff were very helpful in taking care of our bags and we enjoyed exploring the local area, especially the botanical gardens. We also went to the Casa da Musica for a performance by the Symphonic Orchestra and this was totally amazing, I highly recommend. All in all, this hotel was good value but could be better with slightly more attention to details and allergy information."
