"We love Casa Del Mar staff and amenities. The food is really good from the menu but they will also customize for your needs. They make a great margarita from scratch versus a mix using limes from Mexico and Squirt (ask for the recipe). The ocean views from your room are breathtaking at sunset. They have their own private beach area and you can snorkel right at the hotel. We find it to be a great value."

"Loved the pool and area on the roof! My only complaint is the nosey traffic, which can't be helped, but nice to be aware of that. Also, it says oceanfront but there is a busy street, the main one... the ocean is there, but its kinda dirty down on that part and not much beach area. "The property owner was very unresponsive. It was missing a few important amenities, which we then purchased under our own cost. "Barcelo Maya Palace is a great resort with access to it's sister properties within the Barcelo Complex. The resort was clean and staff was very friendly. The beach area was clean without a lot of seaweed. I would recommend the Barcelo resorts. Visit the other properties if you want a different buffet experience."

"We recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a wonderful experience. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. The only issue we encountered was that the air conditioner leaked, soaking all of our clothes. Thankfully, the hotel staff handled the situation incredibly well and washed all of our clothing at no extra charge, which we really appreciated. One of the highlights of our stay was all the wildlife around the resort. We saw monkeys, macaws, deer, raccoons, and even some of the adorable rat-like animals native to the area, which made the experience feel very unique. The food was excellent! The main buffet had a huge variety of options, and the green chilaquiles were definitely my favorite. I recommend going early in the morning since it gets very busy later on. We also had lunch one day at the oceanfront buffet, and it was fantastic—the food was delicious, the service was excellent, and it was much less crowded. Paco’s Tacos and the pizza were also both delicious. Definitely make dinner reservations ahead of time—they’re absolutely worth it. Our favorite restaurant was the Italian restaurant, and we also really enjoyed the Oriental restaurant. The steakhouse, however, wasn’t our favorite and was the only dining experience we probably wouldn’t repeat. The beach is on the smaller side, but we were lucky enough to have beautiful, crystal-clear water during our stay. Another huge perk is that Xcaret Park is literally about a five-minute walk from the hotel entrance."

"Highly recommend Fuji restaurant. Standard rooms are on the small side and the dinner buffet was monotonous with limited food choices. Nightly shows/entertainment were enjoyable. Beach and sea are beautiful with crystal water and lots of beautiful marine life to see. Don’t forget to make your scuba masks and snorkels and if you do the hotel offers equipment daily for 1 hour to go snorkelling. Very family orientated and relaxing atmosphere."
