"A bit of an adventure getting to the hotel as it is located at the top of a very steep drive way that meanders though a coconut and pepper plantation. "The room was really nice! I wasn't expecting much from the outside but I was pleasantly surprised. It's a great value and I would recommend staying here for seeing the Elephant Orphanage. I was a litte disapointed in the breakfast and not at all happy with the dinner at the restaurant. The hotel was great though."

"The Hotel is very large in size and the staff were very pleasant and helpful organising a driver to take us out of the area to visit all the places of interest we would not see otherwise. Kurunegela itself is not geared up for tourism and is more your local town. So there is a need to travel out. "So overall this hotel was an excellent option. My room had a great view, especially at night with the city lights against the mountainsides. The lock on the door, although it did lock, was a bit difficult and frustrating. However, Kandy City stay does get high marks for staff and their local tours. The hotel’s (mainly elephant park) was excellent and very economical. "
