"We love staying at The George Manor when we come to town to grab a cruise. Staff is always such a pleasure and make us feel at home. Best place to stay in Galveston. Beautiful accommodations. "A wonderful stay from start to finish! We were so well looked after by Richard the owner. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and generous of his time spent with guests. The breakfast cooked from scratch each day by Logan was absolutely wonderful. We have never experienced service and hospitality like it! The location of the hotel is just perfect for visiting both the historic district and the seawall area. And to top it all off, Richard himself drove us to the port to join our cruise ship at the end of our 3 day stay. A wonderful first impression of Galveston hospitality - can't recommend The Lasker Inn highly enough!"

"I did not get the room I reserved. The elevator didn’t work for over an hour. We had no blankets or towels and when we asked for them the staff were very rude. Property was dirty. Definitely nothing like the pictures indicate. The breakfast was terrible and when another customer mentioned the juice was not mixed properly he was scolded by staff and told him he was rude for saying the juice wasn’t good. Until he ran it himself and said oh yea it’s not mixing but offered no apologies to the customer he was so rude to. Would not recommend this location to anyone! "

"I loved the quality and nostalgia of the property. Everyone was friendly. I would have given a 5 but the service at the restaurant Sunday night was a slow and a little unresponsive. The food was always outstanding and the service in the morning was truly outstanding. I used the valet service as well. I ended up not tipping anyone at the valet because while the car was delivered in a timely way, no one opened our doors or met us at the car. I’d visit again and would give a solid 4.5. "

"Best hotel to stay at for a cruise. No amenities, so not good for more than a short stay. Cute rooms, comfy beds & beautiful marina view (if they give you the right room). I paid $60 more for marina view & had a view of the parking lot. Called the front desk & the guy told me that room was indeed a marina view. He wasn't nice about it, either. I didn't feel like being a Karen, so I let it go. Breakfast biscuits were good. Shuttle to cruise was great but was not there @ 8:45 am as directed on our return, so we walked back to the hotel. "

"Initial room we were placed in had wonderful views of the seawall, however, the bed linens were soiled and there was black mold on the pillowcases, lampshades, headboard & bathroom ceiling. Staff was very amenable and promptly moved us to a different room that was clean. "
