Tamanu on the Beach

Tamanu on the Beach

10/10 Excellent
"This is an excellent resort for relaxing. We had a ocean front villa and loved it. It is worth the additional cost to be on the ocean as the second row does not have a view. ALso, it is fun to walk the long white sand beach at low tide and see all of the coral exposed and the fun aquatic life living in the pools. The staff was lovely, happy and helpful. A driver was arranged for us to tour the island and we recommend that. There are a lot of families so if you are not into kids in the restaurant, you might not love this. There were lots of kids here so dinner could be a little noisy. Otherwise, everything else was wonderful. The chef was great and lots of selection on the menu. They have wonderful fresh fish entrees that we really enjoyed. It is about 45 minutes from the airport. The shuttle costs about $25USD each way. Lovely drivers!"

The Moso Vanuatu

The Moso Vanuatu

10/10 Excellent
"We had an excellent stay at Moso and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful place to genuinely switch off and experience a little more of Vanuatu. The real highlight was the staff. Everyone was exceptionally friendly, attentive and welcoming, and they contributed enormously to our stay. The waterfront location is superb. Being able to walk straight into the water and snorkel out the front of the resort was fantastic. There’s also a great 2 km walk through the forest to a secluded beach, with more excellent snorkelling when you arrive. We loved that there are no cars on Moso Island. Walking along the tracks, visiting the local villages and meeting the villagers gave us a much better feel for the island. If you get the chance, walk south and visit one of the village kava bars — well worth doing and a memorable part of the experience. Even the limited Wi-Fi, available around reception and the restaurant, became a positive. It made it much easier to put the phone away and properly relax. Moso is a place to slow down, snorkel, walk, explore, meet people and enjoy having nowhere you need to be. We left feeling genuinely relaxed and very glad we chose it."

Warwick Le Lagon - Vanuatu

Warwick Le Lagon - Vanuatu

8/10 Good
"We were a couple in our 50’s. We had a lagoon view villa, the room was clean, a bit dated. Had a safe, decent water pressure in the shower and a bath. The toilet door did not close and had no lock, weird but a non issue for us. Would have been nice to have wine glasses and bottle opener, maybe a plate and a knife so we could enjoy snack on our deck. But we made do. Has a swim up bar and a few pools. They looked nice but too many screaming kids, we felt should not have been allowed in the bar area. Buffet dinner $35 each was pretty good, lots of variety and themed nights. Buffet breakfast was free with the room, also very good. Enjoyed the fire show. There is a gym and kayaks, snorkelling is great. Take water shoes, you don’t want to step on the starfish or sea cucumber or sea snakes. It would have been nice to have a buggy service to the front gate, it’s far to walk in the heat. The staff were a mixture of helpful and rude. Most appeared to not enjoy their job and a simple request was too much trouble. The property is huge and is great for families and golfers. But not if you would prefer a smaller more intimate location. We enjoyed our stay but would not stay again. 7/10"

"Cannot recommend the resort enough. The owners make you feel so welcome from the continental breakfast every morning to the household dog Rocky the great conversation with the owners. They go out of their way to make to make it feel like home. I found it to be one of the best hotels or resort I’ve stayed at as a single traveler. The rooms is huge & has all of the amenities you would need."

Iririki Island Resort & Spa

Iririki Island Resort & Spa

10/10 Excellent
"The location is ideal, a 2-minute ferry ride to downtown Port Vila. The staff are warm, friendly and helpful. Our bungalow was perfectly positioned #53. We had a view of the mainland and could see part of the pool area and the restaurant, but far enough away that the noise didn't bother us. I love people watching, so the constant flow kept me amused. The buffet breakfast had something for everyone. The restaurant meals were pretty good but the prices have certainly skyrocketed since we were there last. Especially the wine. Tip for anyone staying there. Turn right when you get off the ferry and there is a large supermarket at the top of the hill (15-20 minute walk) that sells wine, beer and everything imaginable for much more reasonable prices. The best coffee place in town is called Coco on Co only 5 minutes walk in the same direction. Staff and their Poke bowls were amazing. We went there every day! Best burgers in town at at the opposite end of town, a good 20 minute walk to a place called Burgers at Vanuatu - it's located in a shipping container. THE best burgers we have come across and not expensive. Probably the only fault after 8 days was that I accidently cut my foot and needed a band aid. I asked at the restaurant and they didn't have a first aid kit. That's something that should be rectified I would go back there in a heart beat - just don't go on "Independence Day" the celebrations were loud and kept us awake until 4am. No fault of the hotel."
