"It was a good price and mostly clean, though my first room had a funky mildew smell and a dead cockroach in it. But the downtown Oceanside area is notorious for roaches. The woman running the front desk was pleasant and changed my room for me because of the smell. Great location. In good shape (maintenance wise, paint, furniture condition, etc.). Bed was comfortable. I didn’t try the breakfast. Overall I’d stay here again. "

"Basic. Nothing to write home about. Room was clean and well kept. Nice price for dogs. Great parking. Staff o.k. Limited to no extra's e.g., breakfast. Short distant to the water. "

"If you are wanting a “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles “ experience, this is the place for you. Coaster trolleys and freight trains go by several times an hour, you can hear car traffic, as well as small planes buzzing overhead. The bedframe sticks out and sounds like a kettle drum when you kick it…quite a surprise wake up when the late night urge comes upon you and you are climbing back in the rack. Good luck ironing your clothes, the iron it theater to the board with a short leash. Could see daylight coming in under the door, so lizards and bugs and spiders have free entry. Lastly, the showing was tepid at best, and the pressure was like peeing on a three alarm fire. "

"Very nice accommodations with ocean view, older unit. Everything was great, but be aware that there is no air conditioning and it can get really hot. The grounds there are gorgeous and the pool is very nice also "

"We’ve rented along the Strand for 20+ years, and this trip did not disappoint. We had a great time. Suggestion… salt/pepper, etc. for the kitchen, and for the kids, plastic cups and plates, and maybe a few beach toys."

"Beautiful place to stay! Loved being near the beach, and walkable to many great restaurants. We weren’t impressed with the Piper Restaurant, but the Shore Room was very nice with excellent drinks. This resort is very family friendly, who co is great for families, but there were many screaming and running kids around the common areas and swimming pool and especially in the hot tub, even though the sign says go 12 and older."
