"Definitely a great place to stay if you are visiting Kawagoe with its historic 'Edo Town', as the nearest station (Matoba) is just two stops away. The very kind owner/host offers a comfortable place to stay with excellent hospitality and flexibility for not just solo travellers but couples and even small groups. "I knowingly booked a room that was very small, but also reasonably priced. It was very clean and sufficient for a place to sleep after spending a long day visiting sites around Tokyo. It would have been too tight, however, if there had been two of us."
"The hotel is very clean and very nice! Not too big, but also not too small of a building. The room itself was on the smaller side, but considering as it was just me, it was totally fine. As a solo female traveler, I always felt safe in the hotel and in the surrounding area. It’s in the quieter part of the Shinjuku area, so noise or heavy street activity was never an issue. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the 2 closest subway stops (Nishi Shinjuku & Tochomae), and is conveniently located near plenty of good food options. Also a plus that there’s a 7-11 directly below the hotel, for easy access to last minute needs and snacks. Overall I enjoyed my stay!"
