"First room that was offered was a single room with a king size bed in, second marginally better. For the £140 nights stay, without breakfast was very expensive for the quality of hotel and room. Have stay before and the room we had then was much better, so the pic of the draw if it’s fully booked. Also a nespreso machine in the room and no pods??? "

"We only had an evening meal as had to leave before 9 for the breakfast. We had a really nice, freshly cooked meal. Service was great. The room was clean and roomy. Tea and coffee were provided in the room. Nice to have a bath too. This property is closing its doors end of April unfortunately but is moving to Thirsk to a new property. "

"What an amazing find. The location is perfect. The room was spacious and well appointed with acomfortable bed and luxurious linens. Dinner in the restaurant was amazing. Breakfast was incredible."

"The main issue was the very strong dog smell in our room. Our stay was during snowy weather, and the room was extremely cold until the portable electric heater had warmed the room up - this took about 5 hours, so I'm glad we didn't check in close to bed time. The shower was an unpredictable dribble that leaked onto the bathroom floor. The kettle was broken so was continuously boiling and the handle was extremely hot, this is of course a safety concern if we had have left it unattended. I was expecting a slightly rough and ready stay due to the bargain price, but I couldn't overlook or resolve the terrible smell. The hole in the blind was a bit unsettling. On a positive note, the bedding and towels were clean and the parking was convenient. The landlady did try to find another heater for us, which we appreciated, however the heater was broken. "

"We went to the ripon races and this was an excellent base to go from . The cottage was gorgeous and the host gail was amazing very helpful and guided us on taxis . The nicest part was the extra touches gail put in the cottage for us prosecco biscuits all little extra things you might forget like toothbrushes very thoughtful of her .
