I had such a great stay at this hotel! The location was absolutely perfect and close to everything, which made getting around NYC so easy and convenient. The hotel was clean and comfortable.
The staff were truly amazing—so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and safe throughout my stay, which I really appreciated.
101 was noisy, & had little amenities or none at all no ice no water no towels. Just toilet paper & body wash. The police showed up once. & 2 other guests were ranting uncomfortable for days. The service was good. The rooms were closets. The bathrooms were certainly very clean, that was the best thing about 101 hotel the clean bathroom.

Know what you are in for on this place. It’s no frills. Ear plugs advised and they have them at the front desk. I had a simple solo room with a shared bathroom (which was very clean). The room was also clean. Cameras are through out the hallways and access to the rooms is well secured.
This was a hotel where you didn’t spend much time in it. A room where you could sleep and not much more. Small but clean. No air conditioning, could open window but no screen, so closed before sleeping.
Didn’t bother me, but no elevator and steps were very steep and a lot of them. Don’t recommend if you can’t do stairs. Great location, close walk to subway.
Although the staff was very friendly and helpful, the property in reality is incredibly different than what it is advertised. In addition, bathrooms were extremely dirty and no towels are provided as a standard amenity.

Staff was amazing. Incredibly sweet and helpful. Room was what it was. Very tiny, tiny space… just enough for your body and one suitcase in the cabin, which was fine for me. Shared restrooms were fairly clean. No elevator, so be mindful of that if accessibly is an issue. Hotel its self is very old, but I found that charming. For 3 days, 2 nights, I was totally fine here. Would definitely come back.
I absolutely loved my stay at 101 HOTEL Manhattan because of its unbeatable Bowery location, so we walked to Little Italy in two minute, SOHO in five, the other day LES and NOHO in a few too and the Subway is directly at the corner - this place is incredible. Spotless rooms with hard floor and incredibly comfortable, brand-new beds. Loved the AC it’s a hot summer. Sweet staff very helpful.
Disgusting and the tiniest room you can imagine. Paper thin walls. Good place to stay if you want to catch a respiratory disease or get bed bug bites. Not as advertised. Stay literally anywhere else.
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. There is no elevator, so be ready to go up flights of stairs with luggage. The rooms were small and had thin walls, so I could hear my neighbors at all times. Additionally, no hangers in the bathroom or really much of an area for anything. Additionally, there was also a hole in the ceiling and the tv in our room did not have a remote. The staff was nice but I only saw 2 or 3 people working the entire time, so this hotel is definitely understaffed. It’s a decent area, but honestly a motel 6 is an upgrade over this!

Location is excellent. Price is excellent. But they say you get what you pay for. Walls are paper thin- use earplugs. They don’t provide washcloths. No mirror. No ac control- I was freezing the entire night. They use regular keys on a bulky keyring. If you are staying for one night and won’t be in the room often- I suggest this place. If you’re going to be there for more than 1 night- don’t do it. Tv didn’t work either. No signal. There’s also no windows.
I stayed in Room 419. The hotel was old but clean, and the bed was comfortable, but several issues made my stay uncomfortable.
Someone attempted to enter my room using a hotel key and was actually able to unlock and open the door. Thankfully, I had the secondary security lock engaged, which stopped them from coming inside. Later, someone knocked and asked when I would be checking out. I don’t know whether the person who unlocked my door was a staff member or another guest, but this was extremely concerning. Communication was also difficult due to a significant language barrier
Around 12:30 AM, I heard someone above me walking around, dragging or moving things, talking loudly on the phone, and receiving repeated phone notifications with the volume on. The noise continued after 1 AM.
I understand this is an older, small hotel and sound travels easily, but if the noise was coming from guests rather than staff, the hotel should have quiet-hours signs reminding people to be considerate late at night.
Although the room was clean and the bed comfortable, the room-key incident and late-night noise made it difficult to feel comfortable or relax during my stay.
If you want to test the limits of human dignity, choose this hotel. For 250$ a night you will get a 2 sqm room with shared toilettes. These people make more money than a palace and treat you so badly.
