"Hotel rooms dated and in need of refurbishment. Air conditioning very loud and turning itself on and off. Lots of noise from neighbouring rooms. No mention when booking of all the building work next to the hotel. However, spa and pool facilities were very good and the breakfasts and staff were excellent"

"Breakfast is excellent a really good choice and well stocked. The room was spacious and had everything we needed the down side of the room was a silly blue motion sensor light that goes off all the time and really disrupts sleep. The robes need replacing a bit rough and old. It says there is a 24 hour shuttle from airport when I booked but there is not. What was disappointing is the indoor pool and outdoor pool are managed by another provider and they let you know. No robes or slippers in the spa for hotel guests a massive cockroach in the sauna not even a sorry. Quite a long walk through basement to indoor pool so make sure you collect your towel from reception this was a bit of a pain. You also have to book your sun lounger a day ahead. The beachfront hotel guests aren’t allowed in the front rows or around the pool that’s reserved for everyone else so didn’t feel like a five star. Tea and coffee provided in room but no biscuits but a nice chocolate and a turndown service. "

"Location is central with great view on roof top. But it is no up to the 4 star hotel standard. The standard room we booked did not have proper window and shower. We had to upgrade to a “balcony” room to get those. But the room was the last one available and it had a strange smell. There were multiple large trash containers across the narrow street from the hotel entrance. We smelled trash and saw flies coming into the hotel all the time. Not a satisfactory stay, to say the least."

"I really liked the hotel. It was in a good location. the staff was wonderful and the breakfast was good. The air conditioning was excellent along with the shower. Great water pressure. The two downfalls and the reason we would not return was 1) the noise level at night lasting until 2-230am. There is a bar next door that plays very loud EDM (Electronic Dance Music) into the morning. The vibration from the music kept us from sleeping. Even my pillow was vibrating from the bass. 2) No receptionist to assist you with checking in, just self check. Found it very confusing. The sign stated there would be a receptionist from 2pm-5pm? daily but we only saw the person once in the 5 days we were there."

"Hotel had just reopened after major refurbishment, so everything was immaculate and brand new. Pool wasn’t quite ready for use, and a couple of very minor snagging issues as everything/everyone only on day 2 of operation, but cannot fault it. Excellent location, walkable to all sights, restaurants, buses and ferries. Manager very knowledgeable of area and keen for feedback on refurbished rooms. Excellent breakfast menu, served in enclosed courtyard. Enormous comfy bed, and beautiful unusual building. Our room was just off reception, so noise from there travelled, but not late. Will be returning. Highly recommend."
