"I paid but left after 5 minutes. The app posting is very misleading. You’re in a spare bedroom in a house in a residential area. Nothing in the driveway to indicate you’re in the right place, just a sign saying you’re on a video camera, as if you’re an intruder. You’re way up a hill outside of town, far from anyplace to eat or get a coffee.
You do NOT have an en suite bathroom. It’s located down the hall on the opposite side of the common area. There is no tv in the room. There’s a small flatscreen in the common area. Same for the mini fridge and microwave. More like a hostel than a b&b. Supposedly a continental breakfast in the morning. Doesn’t the second “b” mean BREAKFAST?
You’re expected to take your shoes off when entering with a pile of Crocs against the wall. I was wearing lace up hiking boots. Sorry, I’m not going to take them on and off just to get my bags, etc. I am not putting on some stranger’s skanky Crocs. This is Canada, not SE Asia. We can wear our shoes in the lodging.
As the above points were revealed to me one by one, I became more and more annoyed. Keep the money, I don’t care. It was worth it to me not to spend a night totally po’d."
