The menu continued into the evening and we were able to see why it's so popular. A great meal, and then a lovely cooked breakfast the next morning. My room was super clean and had everything I needed for a relaxing evening. After a great nights rest I was greeted at breakfast by the owners which was very pleasant and confirmed my decision for this to be my regular place to stay when I am around for work. "Nice and clean room in historic building with modern bathroom (nice big shower). Well appointed, with bedside lights (one each side of the bed) and plenty of USB power sockets (A & C) both sides of the bed. Additional plug-in electric radiator provided, and tea/coffee/kettle with a couple of small packets of biscuits too. Very convenient for visiting Shrewsbury on foot, and not far from the railway station."

"All staff were extremely helpful and friendly in all areas of the hotel. Unfortunately there was no working radiators on the top floor and the room was cold. There was a small electric fan heater in the room which we cleaned prior to as it it was covered in dust. My fault but I hadnt realised that there wasn't a proper shower in a room described as a premium. The kettle was dirty with coffee stains on the outside and generally appeared old. I wasn't happy to use it until I cleaned it. Food and drinks all excellent."

"We stayed for one night. It was a little warm in the room, but we discovered a fan in the cupboard. Generally a comfortable stay in a good location to get to a show at Theatre Severn. Plenty of restaurants nearby too. Parking was an essential and at £5 per night was reasonable. We hear the hotel is changing hands soon. I hope the standards are kept high."
