"A good hotel for a short stay. Close to beautiful Shrewsbury. Excellent and friendly staff. Good standard of facilities including swimming pool. Nice, clean and spacious room. Lovely breakfast. One mark off the five star due to poor water pressure in the shower. But I liked this hotel very much and would recommend it."

"We got what we paid for at the Tumbledown: we needed an affordable place close to the station that was accessible for a member of our party with mobility restrictions. It answered on both of these, but visitors should not expect rooms to be fancy. All absolute necessities were provided, and from our rooms on the second floor we did not hear any noise from the bar on the ground level. The fixtures felt more like a college dorm or retreat house than a hotel: very basic but absolutely functional. The staff might need to pay a little more attention to detail, since when we checked in, the coffee and tea items had not been refreshed since being used by the previous occupants of our rooms. But the rooms were painted cheerful colors, and when we asked at the bar to have some more teabags, we received them. Overall, we were satisfied."
