It's a lot of food so come to each meal hungry. All the staff we interacted with were kind and very helpful. The indoor and outdoor onsen was the perfect way to unwind after long days exploring the Hakone area. "Onsen was beautiful and a great experience, beds were comfortable and good room sizes. Walking from the station is not recommended, especially if you have luggage. Room quality/fittings were okay. No views but the ground are peaceful. Overall, not quite the value for money. "

"The hotel from the initial walk in was beautiful and felt as though we were stepping back in time. Our room with papered walls and tatami mats, overlooking the river was breathtaking and the food carefully layed out by our nakai-san was exquisite and our nakai-san was wonderful, meticulous and patient with the many questions from our kids. "This is a lovely property with the best staff! Just be aware that there aren’t a lot of dinning options. 1-2 nights best. 5 minute walk to the Izu Panorama area where you can take the ropeway to the top of the mountain to have lunch and see a view of Mt. Fuji. "

"Really enjoyed our two night stay at Tsukino Yado Sara. The room was roomy with western style beds which I prefer to futons. The balcony had a bath tub looking out over a river which was relaxing but I preferred the main hot springs that had an outside bath overlooking a forest. I used it 3 times a day and my body felt so rejuvenated. "

"The hotel opened three weeks before our stay, so it was absolutely stunning and modern. we also had a gorgeous view of Mt Fuji from our balcony in the morning. the personal onsen was also a great touch. beware that this is a digital hotel, so check in is a little frustrating. the other issue is that you can only use the wending machine if you have a Japanese mobile phone (eSim does not work) and it is a self catering hotel. restaurants around close at 5, there is a pizzeria with last order at 7....

"Overall is good but need to improve on check in process. Already done the pre-registration bug still need to key in the same information one by one for different person, snap a photo one by one, then continue by video call with customer service, very time consuming. The property itself is nice and great view direct facing the Fujisan. We enjoy the BBQ on the balcony and jacuzzi inside the villa. "
