The bedroom was a beautiful room but a bit tired but it seems the rooms are being updated, the en suite had been already. What makes The Old Ship Aground stand out head and shoulders are the staff, every single member of staff was delightful, they were happy and took an interest in each guest, never experienced it anywhere before. We will definitely be returning soon, amazing situation by the harbour, like a little village on its own although Minehead is only a 10 minute walk.
The food was great, their steak was incredible.
Sehr grosszügiges Zimmer mit Meerblick, gemütlich eingerichtet, sehr freundliches Personal.
Etwas laut abends, da direkt über dem Pub Schlafzimmer und sehr ringhörig
Staying at the Old Ship Aground was lovely! The rooms are clean and comfy. The breakfast was outstanding. The staff was so friendly and helpful a 'true west country' friendliness. 'Thank you to Rosie and your team. When I come back to Minehead I would definatly stay again.

Property is in a great location. Room was large and clean although the shower room was somewhat small. In need of refurbishment and a lick of paint. Overall pretty good.

Personalet meget venlige og hjælpsomme.
Indgangspartiet og barområdet ret nedslidt.
Værelset fint og rent. Maden OK.
Beliggenheden fin for udflugter i området.

it was a little tired
Room was good, overlooking the harbour with a balcony which was a nice surprise as it wasn't mentioned. I pulled the ceiling to floor blind over the balcony door that night but in the morning I discovered there was no way to roll it back up again so morning view of the harbour was obscured by the blind. Pity as view was a real feature of the room. It was advertised as a super king bed but was in fact two single beds pushed together.
Toilet seat was loose and broken and the shower was the smallest one I have ever been in , smaller I imagine that those found in camper vans.
Sounds like I am whingeing but I am not, as I said the place was very tired and needs a lot of attention. Breakfast was good but until the old ship aground undergoes refurbishment we won't be booking there again.
Hotel welcome and service for whole time we were there was excellent. Food first class and good value. Bedroom with balcony and sea views delightful. Managed to park in front of hotel after short wait and it was free. However, there were only a few spaces and if not available parking in thye road or adjacent car park was expensive.
Very pleasant and welcoming staff. Good food pleasant surroundings. Plain but comfortable room. Lovely situation for walks. Parking could be tight at busier times
Lovely place in a great location right by the harbour. Views were amazing.
Room was great. Plenty of space and good shower.
Food was excellent. Particularly the breakfast

Staff are absolutely fab very friendly and helpful, hotel decor is a bit dated but can see from the outside that renovations are underway, let’s hope this carries on inside, as all it needs is a lick of paint, room was large enough for our needs, big cobweb in bathroom tho and would have liked to open the window. All in all I would recommend and would stay again
Check-in disorganised, had to wait around 10 mins for someone who knew what they were doing to check us in.
Returning at about 22:50 after going out for a meal we we were confronted with a number of staff at the bar having a drink. When we enquired about having a nightcap we were told the bar was closed - even to residents! Manager seemed very disinterested in responding to our queries.
We have been staying at the Old Ship for many years and this is a very different attitude to the normally friendly and helpful team. Change of ownership has impacted very negatively.
There were exceptions - the staff still on board from previous owners did go out of their way to help - Dan was particularly impressive - nothing was too much trouble and he went the extra mile to ensure we had the best breakfast experience!
Hopefully things will improve s the new management get their feet under the table - we hope so as this has been a regular go-to venue for us but we will go elsewhere if things do not improve.

Very friendly staff, the hotel is going through a period of refurbishment.
Our room was clean and comfortable, the shower was a bit erratic and the television was far too small in such a big room.
Breakfasts were excellent but evening meal menus were disappointing.
There was a great welcome for our two cocker spaniels.
This hotel deserves a makeover, it is in a wonderful position on the harbour at Minehead.
Lovely experience, great room with comfy beds and a greatevening g meal. Staff were excellent. Would definitely go again!

The property has some very strange "covid rules". Like they now check-in at 5pm and no longer supply toiletries in the bathroom. But having said that, they let us check in at 3pm as we arriving from walking and had nowhere else to go; and similarly found some shampoo when I asked as we were not carrying any (hiking). The breakfast was good (but no buffet, only a menu at the table) but we did not eat anything else. It all looked good though. Staff were friendly. The room was very basic but perfectly acceptable. There was scaffolding up around the place so our view was mostly blocked and it was noisy if the window was open with some kind of machinery downstairs. Bed was only a double but comfy; good bathroom. Rather overpriced for the room but I think that's the whole of the UK these days.
The staff were fantastic, all were friendly, helpful & polite. Accommodation was a let down, our room was very tired & dusty. Mismatched furniture. Hospitality tray was good but we had to ask for a top up as there was no housekeeping due to Covid. Bed was comfy, linen & towels were spotless.
Some traffic noise in the mornings but to be expected.
Breakfast was good
Always made welcome by the team. Had a lovely stay.

A hotel of two halves. Great staff with an excellent attitude, good food and a nice location on the quay but both the public areas and the rooms need restyling and upgrading. A slightly odd Covid policy means tiny bars of soap but no shampoo or shower gel in rooms.
Very comfortable room, staff were excellent, location excellent and very reasonably priced.
The food was also very good.
I would certainly recommend to anyone.
