Fabulous hotel, extremely well run, from check in to departure everything was first class. The room was very clean and comfortable, breakfasts were great and Psalters restaurant was excellent.
Lovely hotel. Rooms spacious and immaculate.
Only disappointment was the food. Menu was not really to our taste and when we did manage to find something suitable the cooking was not great. My comments about tough meat which I couldn't eat were acknowledged.
Otherwise great stay.
Beautiful hotel with a medieval pub/bar in a great location. Room 2 had views of Dunster castle and the surrounding countryside. Food was delicious and the desserts exceptional.
Luttrell Arms is a charming hotel, full of character and we were made to feel so welcome by Julie on reception. Our room was amazing and very comfortable. Lovely gardens, perfect for a G&T in the late afternoon! We had dinner in the restaurant both evenings. Excellent food and a special mention to Gabor and Jules who both worked so hard. Already planning a return trip!
My wife & I enjoyed our stay immensely, the staff were friendly & very helpful in fact the could do no more.
Our room was superb the most delightful experience was the meals which to my mind was bordering on Michelin star quality. I would recommend this hotel to anyone it is exemplary in all departments truly superb.
Havent stayed here before but would most definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a classy hotel stay. Everything about our 2 night stay was faultless. The room was fabulous and spotlessly clean and fresh.
From the very warm welcome to the chatty farewell, everyone we encountered was super friendly and polite. The room was secure, clean and very comfortable. Excellent breakfast with a wide choice to suit everyone. Evening menu has a limited choice, but food good.
The hotel has all the old creaking charm you could want, with lots of nooks and crannies to tuck yourselves into for a drink. Cracking beer garden with a castle view.
Parking round the corner in the public car park unless you’re lucky enough to get one in the market square high street.
We loved every minute of our stay and hope to visit again in the autumn.
Room was very comfortable and we appreciated the cold water and use of the fridge, fresh milk and tea/coffee facilities. Dinner was nice but the vegetarian options were a bit disappointing and expensive. The meat options were good but hardly any vegetables on the side.
The staff were friendly and professional

I really did like it at this hotel. The secret gardens were beautiful, breakfast was brilliant, bed was comfy. There was a couple of repairs which should really be seen to like the net in the bathroom had a long tear down the middle and had mould on it, also the wardrobe door wasn’t in its runner. However this didn’t affect my stay and I would most definitely stay here again.
Excellent character property, with well trained and cheerful staff, good service and good food.
Only criticism would be small choice of vegetarian options and no Sunday vegetarian roast choice. Like others, we enjoy our Sunday lunch and were disappointed to have only a risotto or pasta dish offered. Why can’t a nut roast be offered as well

Liked: Room comfort
Left an odd feeling ….
Hey it’s a good hotel, beautiful old building in the centre of the village. Ostensibly pleasing, but oddly the staff seemed very stressed. I was told at check in I should have informed the hotel I was doing the Ultra Challenge. Why?? The outdoor pizza in the evening was chaotic, waiting 55 mins then frankly it was stodgy. The bar staff didn’t know what they had behind the bar, for example didn’t know if they any bitter. All strange. Fabulous comfortable hotel but could be so much more relaxing if the staff were ‘on it’. Sad to say I wouldn’t go back.
Pros: building is full of character, room was a good size, shower was powerful and hot, fridge and tea/coffee facilities in the room, staff were very welcoming and friendly, large portions in evening meals, lovely breakfast with combination of cold buffet and hot food to order. There’s no car park and limited free parking outside but the hotel will reimburse any parking costs you’ve paid.
Cons: room was hot but with the windows open there was quite a bit of noise from traffic and also people gathering outside the hotel, probably not an issue if your room is at the back. The rigatoni pasta was tasteless (I wish I’d seen the other review saying this before I ordered!), the other food we had was lovely. Some of the residents lounge seating areas were not comfortable for eating a meal (sofas/armchairs) and service in the bar was not as good as in the restaurant.
Overall a lovely stay in a beautiful hotel.
A unique ancient hotel yet so comfortable. Very popular, so busy, but the staff are so attentive and friendly. The only minus is parking which is difficult due to the whole area being ancient so do parking areas really. I thoroughly recommend it though.
The most wonderful 3 night stay, could not fault anything. The staff and service was impeccable. The room was exceptionally clean and so accommodating for our doggie, which is normally an issue. The food was unreal, faultless.
The Luttrell Arms has so much character and atmosphere. It was warm, cosy and welcoming in every area. The staff are excellent and couldn’t do enough to help guests at all times! Very much recommended.
