Beautiful hotel, but severe safety hazard and lack of support after injury. I recently stayed at La Quinta by Wyndham in Medellín. The hotel itself is very nice, clean, and has great potential. However, my stay was completely overshadowed by a serious safety hazard and a stressful medical emergency. The shower floors in the rooms are incredibly slippery. Unfortunately, I had a bad slip-and-fall accident during my stay due to this lack of traction. When I notified the hotel management, I was deeply disappointed by their response. They did not offer any compensation, a room upgrade, or anything similar, they only sent me a little box of chocolates to my room as a gesture of apology for what happened. Furthermore, the staff directed me to a local hospital for medical evaluation. The facility they sent me to felt highly unsafe, which added a massive amount of stress to an already painful situation. While the property is physically attractive, the management desperately needs to install non-slip mats in the showers and retrain their staff on how to safely and empathetically handle guest emergencies. Proceed with caution if you stay here.
