"A lot of ants inside the room. We needed to pay for the air conditioning 8⏠per day which is not in the description. We stayed 3 days and the day after we asked for towels change then they said they change towels every 2 days. After 2 days we asked for new towels then I had to hear that i got only 1 day left before check out and they donât charge towels when we got only 1 day left. Really weird rules. "

"We enjoyed our stay here - the staff answered messages quickly, and the room although basic had everything needed for a few nights stay including a small well equipped kitchen area (kettle, coffee machine, stove hob). Bathroom was small but perfectly useable. A bit more information about the area would be useful but that's what the internet is for. Check in was via a coded key pick up. The location is about 15 minutes walk from main areas of the town. "

"The staff, especially Sylvia, was friendly and helpful. She gave good recommendations for restaurants. She also helped to arrange for a good tour and the taxi for leaving by the port. The hotel is in easy walking distance of the pedestrian ways in the city enter, albeit uphill. Of course, that means it is downhill back to the hotel.đ"
"The staff were amazing. Very nice and kind. The breakfast was good. The beds were a little hard. Really good taverna restaurant nearby with traditional food. Great location to rent a car and walk from the airport to. Easy. Great stay for an airport transition to or from Heraklion. Quiet room despite being next to airport. "
"This resort is stunning. Unfortunately, we were stuck with 3 days of cold, wind and rain while we were there, so didn't even get to fully enjoy it in its entirety. Even still, we had a wonderful time. Our room was beautiful with a pool view and private hot tub on our balcony. The biggest highlight to us was the FOOD!! Rarely do we walk away from an all-inclusive resort raving about the food, but by far, the best food we've ever had at a resort. Delicious meals with plenty of options. Drinks were also wonderfully made! "
"It was ok, we have stayed at the other two hotels, Stella Island and Stella Palace, and to be honest this is not on par with them. The food was very limited, not much choice and if youâre a fussy eater you might struggle. All the flowerbeds were overgrown and if you had a sunbed next to one there was a strong smell of cat urine. The drinks werenât great, the soda had that off taste or dirty pipes and isnt branded. There were also cockroaches in our room that came from the toilet floor drain. The staff were nice other than one girl at the smaller pool bar, she was always moody and acted like it was a hindrance to serve people.
Overall it was ok and Iv give it a 3 out of 5. Iâd probably rather stay at Stella Palace for the same price next time.
The pools were clean but they do allow sunbed reserving and most were taken with towels by 7.30am. Some werenât even used all day that had been reserved and the staff didnât do anything to stop that from happening. This would be a major problem at high season."
"The food was probably the most disappointing thing about High Beach. There were large quantities of food and they were varied. The desserts were generally excellent, the breads were delicious and the cold and uncooked items were generally good but the hot and cooked foods were really poor. None of the food that was supposed to be hot was actually hot. It was all tepid. Even the soup which was in its own supposedly heated electric tureen was barely warm. Dishes which were just delivered from the kitchen were not hot. Every chicken dish, except for the chicken skewers, was totally dried out. The fish dishes were all very fishy smelling except for the mussels and the octopus. The stewed lamb, pork and beef dishes were acceptable but not memorable. Supposedly the nights had themes but had we not asked them what the themes were at the Concierge desk it would have been difficult to tell. Just to elaborate, on Greek night you couldnât find moussaka nor any dessert with filo dough.
âą Being from the US, we decided to do our one table service dinner on Mexican night. So we made a reservation and went to Elia. The service was very good but again, the food was barely warm (given that we were sitting where we could see the food as it came out of the kitchen this was perplexing). My daughter and I had beef cheeks which were stewed and OK but the beef was served over a supposedly smoked eggplant puree which was the most unappealing brown color you can imagine. "
