"This was hands down one of the best experiences we have ever had while staying abroad. Beginning prior to our arrival in Morocco we had received communication from the Riad with tips and instructions specific to the wonderful city of Fes. Communication through WhatsApp was extremely easy, and very fast! We were welcomed to the Riad with hot Moroccan mint tea, and cookies. The owner greeted us and excited explained the art and craftsmanship that went into the Riad. We received a full tour and explanation on the cultural aspects of a riad. They booked a guide for the next morning on the spot, who was fabulous. Breakfast was served each morning, you could tell it was all homemade, with love and care. It was by far one of the best breakfasts we have ever had, they were even able to accommodate an allergy my wife has. We felt like family from the minute we walked in until the moment we checked out. Please stop looking for a place to stay and decide to make Riad Mazar your home too."

"I grew up in Fes. I know traditional. This is traditional/modern. I like the vibe. It’s not “stenciled” over a normal wall. This is true craftsmanship everywhere. The house can be quiet and one feels awkward speaking out loud. But truly amazing. The shades close and darken the room which was amazing for my jet lag when I needed dark. The hospitality is outstanding. There is street parking. The breakfast is delicious and authentic Moroccan. The room is spacious. It’s not the best sunlight coming in but plenty of light makes up for it. Closet space is aplenty. I dropped something requiring me to fish it out from a corner behind the credenza. I was shocked: it was spotless. Not a lick of dust. I came in a sad situation where I attended a funeral. I arrived at 4 am . They accommodated amazingly. Communication with the host was truly extraordinary. I intend to come back - no Question. Regarding proximity to places, honestly, this is off the popular circuit which made it super interesting for me. It’s close to modern city center By car. Close to other venues by car. I had no complaints. But it is a personal preference. I’m truly thankful for my stay and for the accommodation. When I had my brother visit late at night to say good bye, and then I went to see him off at the front entrance, someone came to check the door was locked. I sincerely appreciated the vigilance. Btw: I parked my car out front street parking. It was safe. The “takeout” breakfast at 4 am? Thank you."

"The hotel is, really, a boutiqu hotel. I got a large room with a seating area..but that was about it. There is no kettle, bottled water or tea/coffee supplied ("Go to nearby coffe houses" I was told when I queried this). The morning staff member was a lot more pleasant :) Also,ifyou forget to hand your keys your room will not be cleaned. And, even if you do, only the towels were refreshed. I didn't not evidence of sheet refreshir even clean of desk :( Airconditioning was good. Hotwater may be less than hot if you are late after the moring crowd - 8am Breakfast OK...nothing fancy. Beware the place has no lifts so if you have a heavy bag it may be an issue..albeit the receptionist will offer help. Lastly, and this is my opion as a businessperson, I think allthe owner's money was spent on acquiring tbe place and, thus, skimping on the ongoing/running cost."
