"I arrived to a lovely greeting from Sandra who showed me to my room and made me feel welcome. The old watermill and out buildings are full of character and it is home this time of year to a hundred or more of swallows & swifts, which is a sight to see. The views are great and the courtyard catches the last of the westerly setting sun to enjoy some late afternoon warmth. I stayed half board and the food has been fantastic ! Plenty of free parking and placed at the end of a long lane there is only the sound of the country, but a stones throw is Tavistock for your every need. I will be back for sure !"

"clean room, lots of clean towels, large spring water bottles and glasses provided. very comfortable bed and plump cushions. Tea and coffee etc nicely set out. could not fault the room. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice to suit every taste. Lovely couple running it who couldn't do enough for us"

"The Blue Lion is ideally situated for a stop over when making a long journey to Cornwall. The room was well equipped and comfortable. There is some traffic noise from the road, but that did not spoil our one night stay. The staff were welcoming and the locals were friendly. The evening meal was excellent. I would stay here again if travelling in this area."

"So glad we booked our overnight stay here. Just down the road from where we had a reservation at the Annex. We were in Crown room, clean and spacious, having everything we needed and more. Lovely touches like the selection of Neal’s Yard products. Check in was hassle free as was check out. A gorgeous property and made to feel very welcome. We shall definitely stay again. "

"Our new favourite place, absolutely faultless. Food is exceptional, a significant step up from your normal pub grub. Our little pooch was also made to feel incredibly welcome and even served with her own little platter of treats. A beautifully clean and well presented restaurant experience that welcomes anyone whether it be special celebrations or a party of hikers that have just conquered Dartmoor. 100% we will be back and bringing friends and family."
