"On the plus side, the room was spacious and clean. However, several of the staff were quite rude and we did not feel at all welcome. The building is also a retirement home, and I felt that was the main focus and that the hotel was just a side hustle. Breakfast is advertised until 10, but the limited buffet is not replenished after about 9.30, and on the 5 mornings we were there it was very depleted by 9.45. "Room was clean, as were the separate toilet and shower facilities. It was just that I had economised too much. I should have paid extra for a proper room with a private bathroom and ample room for my luggage.
Staff were really good and helpful.
There was a reasonable bar in the wider reception area. This was also the area where a buffet breakfast was served. It was an "eat all you can" buffet, but the choice was very limited. No hot food at all. And the room was too small to accommodate all...
