"Really lovely venue. Clean, spacious and attentive staff. They went out of their way to help! The food was delicious- we had the breakfast and, even as a big eater, I had to leave some of the full veggie english (amazing sausages!)! The pancakes were great too! We also used the packed lunch making facility for our climb to Helvellyn (which you can do from the hotel!) and this was also really nice. Would highly recommend. The only thing that would improve the hotel for me would be a dry room...

"The location next to Derwentwater was amazing with great walks from the door and right next to the jetty for the Keswick Launch. We loved watching the birds on the feeders outside the restaurant windows. The breakfast was fantastic with excellent quality ingredients and plenty to choose from including a self service full English cooked breakfast. Our small double bedroom was very clean and looked recently decorated. I loved the decor and the bar reminded me of a hunting lodge. The staff were friendly and helpful and we very much enjoyed our stay there."

"Quick check in process in the evening with a clean room. Only downside was not enough plugs near the beds. They did cater for different plugs (European plugs) in the room which we didn't need but would be good for travellers. Parking suited us as the nearest road was free overnight which is all we needed."

"Our first visit to Dorchester House in Keswick and UK lake country was a wonderful experience. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Liked the English breakfast and all the fresh fruit and baked goods. Proprietor Lorraine saved the day for us on the morning of our departure. Construction in Keswick forced Stagecoach bus route closures and eliminated the main routes. Without getting us a last minute private car, we would have missed our train to Edinburgh from Penrith station. Would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a friendly experience to use as a home base to explore Derwentwater and the other scenic UK lakes"
