"About 8 mins walk from local train station. Whole place is so well decorated. Feels dreamy with Ghibli's soundtracks mildly played. The owner speaks great English. Everything is clean and efficient. I stayed in a dorm of 4. The room itself might be a bit small if you have big suitcase. But the space was fair enough for me. Top floor is where you can hang the laundries. You can see Kumamoto castle from there. Overall it was a great stay. Also great value for money."

"We are from US. This hotel’s room is simple but it has everything you need and it is very clean! I have stayed in higher star hotels in US and we don’t get the cleanliness and service and we still tipped even when the service at the US hotel was non existent. In Japan, no tipping and we get great service. The free breakfast at Comfort Hotel was good too. "

"Ok let's go through the negatives first. The hotel is dated, and it shows its age. The lobby, the hallway all remind you of the 80s. The washroom bath tub has unremovable stains. It doesn't come off but you can sure see it. Oh yeah the hotel is within walking distance from a cremation place too :) But that's where the negatives end.
