"The lady owner was friendly and lovely from the moment I arrived.
I was made to feel very welcome and was even treated to a plate of home made biscuits.
The bed was comfy and I had an amazing night's sleep.
Breakfast was served at a time that was convenient to me and everything was very fresh. The bread and jam were also home made.
The property is in a very quiet location and in lovely gardens and provides a great place to stay during a visit to the lake district. "

"Lorna was a great host, super welcoming and chatty. Room was clean and packed with drinks and biscuits, even had marshmallows for your hot choc! Location was great, just a short walk to town down the scenic railway path. Breakfast in the morning was lovely, "

"Just an average stay. Hotel feels rather unloved. Staff seem to be going through the motions rather than engaging with guests.
Plenty of nice easy free parking (although its £30 per charge for an electric vehicle).
Rooms pleasant but just feel unfinished.
Breakfast is good but not had bacon quite so overcooked in a long time.
Personally, wouldn't stay again, there are lots of better quality establishments in this price range nearby."
"Welcoming family run B+B. The building is maintained to a high standard, the views are astounding and it's in a good location for walking the fells.
The highlight really is the staff, everyone is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the local area. They also take the time to speak to you and are welcoming from the moment you are greeted. Plenty of nearby amenities but depending on the time of year, you will need to pre book activities/meals etc."
"Beautiful, warm and cosy hotel. Parking tricky at times. Very slow shower flow and stopped completely at one point!! Staff were excellent and food quality was also very good. Thin walls in room...we could hear everything when our neighbours went to the bathroom! Overall, a very pleasant stay despite minor niggles."
"The overall cleanliness of the hotel & the service was wonderful with the exception of a grumpy woman behind the bar her service was awful, she didn’t even come to take my order for lunch I waited 40minutes I even had to go & ask & order it myself up at the bar, it wasn’t even busy.
She wasn’t very helpful it was as though she didn’t like the job! Her approach to customers wasn’t great really to be honest.
But I certainly give 5 stars to all the other staff in the restaurant & especially the lady at reception. Thank you to those staff that made up for the grumpy one with glasses. "
