Shoreby Hill in Jamestown offers a rare glimpse into America's Gilded Age summer colony life. This National Register historic district features distinctive early 20th-century architecture along peaceful, tree-lined streets. Elegant shingle-style cottages and Colonial Revival homes create a refined atmosphere. The neighborhood's charm lies in its tranquil residential character and meticulously landscaped common areas. While lacking shops or restaurants within its boundaries, Shoreby Hill's authentic historic ambiance makes it perfect for contemplative walks and architecture enthusiasts.

Jamestown Shores

Jamestown Shores embraces the quiet charm of coastal New England with its rocky beaches and peaceful waterfront paths. Head's Beach offers a perfect spot to watch sailboats glide across Narragansett Bay. The neighborhood's weathered-shingled homes and private docks create a quintessential Rhode Island seascape. Visitors appreciate the calm waters for kayaking and swimming during summer months. The Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina

10/10 Excellent
"It has an excellent location, and the room was clean and tidy, though it needs updating; the hairdryer in the room worked but was very dirty. Another issue: they tell you parking costs $35 a day, but when you check out, the charge on your card is higher! When I made the reservation, I paid taxes and everything; I was only told that at the hotel I would need to pay $78 in destination fees and $35 per day for parking (for three days). The total should have been $173, but they charged my card $236.81."
