"Check-in went smoothly even though I arrived earlier than the scheduled check-in time after a long drive. The staff were very helpful and considerate. The room was clean, dinner was nice and the breakfast too."

"The breakfast was very good..the staff were attentive and very helpful there. Parking was easy with shade available. A staff member Andy was very helpful in explaining my air conditioning. Lots of places to sit outside and read in peace and quiet. The guide file to the hotel in my room didn't say that the still/sparkling water in the fridge was complimentary.As l used it ,it was restocked each day..along with semi skimmed milk."

"Everything was good from the start... warm friendly welcome. The room was large and spotlessly clean. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was excellent in quality and price. The breakfast was freshly cooked with good quality ingredients. In all it was quite and peaceful, ample parking area, will return."

"The size of the room, its layout, the amenities, the service, the food, the atmosphere, its convenience and price were fantastic. However, my upstairs room did not have an air conditioner and as it was hot, I opened the window for fresh air. But because the Old Red Lion is close to a busy "A" road, there was traffic noise throughout the night and again in the early morning."

"A lovely location and great facilities. Great staff and bar area had a lovely atmosphere. Morning breakfast was delicious with attentive staff. Rooms were very quiet, hotel had a lift which is very convent as the steps are steep to the 2nd floor. The rooms are a little tired and the bathroom window privacy screening is in desperate need of replacement. Kettle is completely scaled up and cups were also dirty so this needs to be addressed. Ok Value if the above were dealt with then it would be good value. I would stay here again even so as the bed was very comfortable and overall had a lovely stay."

"Fantastic hotel in a beautiful location. All the staff were very polite and the check-in staff couldn't have been more welcoming. The room was very clean with a lovely view across countryside. We stayed on a Sunday so had a roast dinner in the evening which was very high quality and a very generous portion. We got 30% of as my wife has a blue light card. This doesn't apply to drinks but includes food and accommodation so don't forget to bring yours if you have one. There is a good size free car park. You just have to enter your registration number on the tablet at reception. If you are an ale drinker they have Nethergate from near by Long melford that was superb. I would stay here again without hesitation."
