"Amazing place the 'Eastwell Champneys Estate'. Fantastic accommodation.
Room was beautiful and clean. Staff very helpful and friendly, specific James helped at the reception and Victoria at the Health Spa.
Breakfast was great as it was a buffet. Nice supper and as well the bar meal with good prices.
Great heated indoor and heated outdoor pool and heated outdoor with whirlpools.
Will come soon again."
"Checked in and the reception absolutely stunk of weed from the Eastern Europeans in front of us. Asked about parking and was told from 6pm it was free but it we wasn’t moving our car we needed to go out by 8am and pay the machine the day rate. Most of the hotels along the font subsidised parking.
Asked what time the bar opened to be told unless there is a coach they don’t open it. Asked about the restaurant to be told the same.
Got to our room and it was very basic and on first checking no windows opened and the room was so hot and the radiator was on and couldn’t turn it off. The window was cracked and held together by sellotape.
Went back downstairs and asked for a fan and they did get one.
The room was extremely basic and no idea how long it had been there but a previous guest had stuck a used plaster on the back of the bathroom door and it was still there.
Staff had little interest in speaking to you. First words was you pay now.
Went out to get some dinner and when we returned there was a lot of Eastern Europeans stood outside blocking the stairs drinking bottles of wine/beer smoking weed and was quite intimidating to walk past.
There is no security or cameras around the hotel. Reception door was open all night."
"The hotel could be very lovely. However, it is really rundown and has been let go. The breakfast was the best part, food was hot and fresh. Good variety too. The room i was in was on the 4th floor. Only 1 lift was working for a full hotel. The lift was the width of 1 person and could only fit 2 people in it. It took ages to get the lift. The corridors were very dark and creaky. My room was nextcto a fire door in the corridor so it was constantly banging all night. The room had wood rot in all the windows and could here every little noise outside all night as on a main road. and damp patches on the ceiling. The toilet stopped working and took hours to get it fixed. The bed was very uncomfortable. I had springs in my back all night with very flat pillows too. The water pressure was diabolical just trickling out of the shower and tap. Only cold too. Not enough hot water to fill a,cup came out of the shower. Asked by reception if we would stay again, i felt very uncomfortable saying no as i am a polite person that dont complain but i had to on this point."
"The Lookout is in a great central location with a good sized car park, which you have to pay for separately. There is a bar behind the reception desk where we bought a drink. Our room was large and the bed clean and comfortable, but everything looked a bit tired- the cushions were stained and the curtains had a few holes. The bathroom was also large but dated. The breakfast was good and the hot items were well cooked. I would stay again, but I feel that a few updates are needed."
