"This was my 4th stay at this property. I would give it 5 stars, however in building 18, we could hear from the unit above every time they went to the bathroom, flushed the toilet, turned on the dishwasher or shower. This is the only unit where we have stayed that we had a noise issue. Also, this location has many buildings around and limited parking. Additionally, apparently a work station for the development is also in this area and we heard loud talking multiple times during “quiet hours”. We will definitely come back but will make a request to not be in this location.
On the positive side, all the staff are wonderful. We love the pool and especially the baby pool for the grandkids. The restaurant is an added bonus to have on the property. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The sunsets are just amazing from this location."
"Customers need to be warned that this isn't a hotel and the room wasn't really a room, but rather a screened-in porch. There were no windows to close - only screens. There was no shower, but rather a bathtub where people from the outside could see anyone in the tub. The bathroom sink was actually a kitchen sink that came with cockroaches. The bed was in very bad condition, sinking in the middle. There was poor lighting, no air conditioning, and nearly deafening noise from frogs outside. When we arrived, it was completely dark and to reach our room, you were required to climb a steep hill/driveway. The breakfast consisted of some cut up fruit, wheat bread, oatmeal, and coffee. The owner was friendly, trying to be accomodating and helpful."
"We stayed 3 nights and the Royal Kona is close to shops and restaurants. The property is showing its age and some areas are under renovation. Staff were helpful and baggage and valet staff were working their tails off."
"Rooms were clean. The ocean view was spectacular. The staff were friendly. Parking is available. Traffic is an issue. No serious restaurant nearby. If one can afford it, consider using a shuttle service to get around."
"It had adequate parking and plenty of towels. Wish we had noticed a beach chair in one of the closets. Check in and out was super easy. I thought it'd be a little closer to all the shops and restaurants but oh well.
It had a window unit AC in the living room only so the bedroom could get a little stuffy. Also, if you left any dirty dishes in the sink for even a day, you'd get what looked like baby roaches in the sink and on the counter. They weren't very frequent."

"First thing I checked in and I had ocean front room and instead they gave me 2 floor room that the view was the first floor roof , I went to guest service and they did not help me at all , I had to request a manager to show them the view of the room I booked and the one they gave me , she then proceeded to help me and gave me the one I purchased, her name was Mailie , the beach in front of the hotel is used by locals and anyone , there is not exclusively like they show on pics here ,I fine to stay here but is way overpriced "
