"Overall positive. Drive-up was easy and door staff friendly. I was a bit frustrated at check-in. I was in the Elite line with a single attendant. There were 3 for everyone else so we were being lapped. Even when there was noone in the standard line none of the attendants helped those of us in the Elite line. Never experienced that before. Room clean, nice view. West tower, looking over the lagoon. Would suggest doing something with the roof we overlooked; its a bit of an eyesore. Maybe a green roof? Tax break, maybe? I was given a different room than I reserved: 2 doubles instead of a King. For some reason that was not mentioned at check-in (also a concern) but staff made of for it when I called. Good service recovery; very pleasant individual. Loved the artwork in the lobby leading to the West wing; great cultural exposure. Parking abundant. Liked the pool and bubbly hot tub!"

"We ate breakfast across the street and towards town, upstairs with a view of the bay thru the wires! Our hotel staff were busy at dinner but we were seated at a great table just off the dining area. We had a young server who checked how much $$ she was making instead of refilling my empty water glass. I walked to the bar and the bartender graciously filled my glass. They have cut back on body lotion in the room amenities, which I missed as we got them 2 months prior. Parking had increased and you can take your car out and return for the one day price. If you stay 1 night you pay for 2 days of parking. Great location for shops and restaurants"

"The Guest Services staff was incredibly helpful and courteous. Always willing to help. The condo unit was clean and provides all amenities needed - from pool towels to dish soap. If you need anything additional they are happy to provide. The bed was very comfortable. Unit was a little outdated but worked for us. There are Bbqs all over the property to use and are cleaned daily. Restaurant had a daily happy hour and live music every night. Highly recommend for all ages!"

"The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, cookware, and dishes. Washer and dryer were conveniently located however the dryer took an unusually long time to dry clothes."

"Holua Resort is a comfortable, family‑friendly property that delivers a relaxing stay on the Big Island. The grounds are lush and well maintained, and the pool and surrounding facilities are inviting and peaceful. Our two‑story unit was **spacious** and thoughtfully laid out, with plenty of room to spread out, a functional kitchen, and comfortable sleeping areas that worked well for a longer stay. That said, the décor and finishes do feel a bit dated, so manage your expectations if you’re looking for something very modern. The one real downside was the layout of the resort itself: parking can be quite far from the units, and we found ourselves hauling luggage a long way in the rain, through areas with standing water, which was inconvenient on arrival and departure. Overall, though, the friendly atmosphere, quiet setting, and roomy accommodations made it a very pleasant stay and a place we’d consider returning to with just a bit of logistical planning."
