6/10 Okay

"Double room was small and very hot, fan helped a bit. Water was clean in pool but hand rail could be tightened. Not allowed in main area first afternoon due to private function (an area we choose hotel for the view). Next evening another group took over most of the entertainment area, one of their dogs was off lead, on and around dance floor, another dog was sitting on the chairs. Entertainers good. Drinks price high and varied in quality due to bar or restaurant prepared Okay if you are on a deal or package but not otherwise. Felt as a hotel guest in the way."

"Staff were amazing couldn’t have been more helpful to me and my disabled son, room’s clean and comfortable beds. Only thing that I can suggest is some of the rooms could do with having fans in the room’s as it’s very warm in hot weather. About a 5 minute walk to the pier. We had a wonderful time 😊"

"Extremely dated in bad need of an upgrade. Furniture in room was extremely out of date and old. Radiator in the room rusty. All communal stair carpets need cleaning of dust on the edges. Outdoor pool closed and area run down. Furniture on the terrace old and in bad need of renovation or replacement. Terrace was uninspiring and barriers needing updating. Breakfast was standard cafe on the street nothing stood out. Will not return"

"Room was clean, we did have to report a couple of things but was sorted straightaway, balcony was ok but disappointing that you have to climb through window to access it, plenty of room and handy tea and coffee facilities. The hotel has a beautiful layout with lots of different seating areas, even a little library, to sit and relax anytime of the day, and beautiful sea views. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The outside pool is nice and plenty of loungers available. The spa is down stairs and was a nice little treat, staff really nice. Would recommend a stay here , it is located at the top of Torquay with beautiful views of the bay and a five minute walk into the start of the town with regular bus services which is outside the hotel. Breakfast is lovely choice of continental and full English. Just a few negatives: a damp smell on the third floor was quite unpleasant and could occasionally smell in room, a little daily tidy of the pool area, a little tlc inside would freshen the hotel up, parking could be awkward but right next to train station, so parking ok and the main entrance signage does let the appearance down.not all lifts were working and occasionally signs up to say not working, and when on the 3rd floor with only one lift working to that floor, was disappointing, but they did actually work, so unsure why the signs were put up, All in all a lovely pleasant stay and would recommend"

"We were part of a party of 8 (family - adults) We were staying for a family wedding. Anthony (owner) and all his staff did a fantastic job at looking after us well. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast and general food was excellent. Terraced, outside area just great for relaxing and catching up over a drink."

"Firstly, £15 a day for the privilege of parking at the hotel and it’s on a first come first serve basis, is more the norm now bits it’s appalling, if you go out your not guaranteed your spot once returned. Tv didn’t work until I asked twice for it to be sorted and the fridge didn’t work and didn’t get sorted. However, it’s a lovely new/clean and well designed hotel. Comfy bed, lovely on suite and a great location for Paignton and close by Torquay. Overall we would go again!"
