"The Hen House cottage was a great place to stay for our trip in the Durham area. The village of Brandon is a beautiful location for going for walks in the countryside and with a great pub/ restaurant called the Bay Horse Inn on 50m away it’s a perfect place to stay. The village is very close to the historic house, chapels and gardens of Ushaw and Brancepeth Castle, which are both excellent places to visit!! "We have a lovely stay at the cottage. We went as two couples and two dogs. The cottage was lovely and the addition of the hot tub was great. The grounds of the hotel were nice too. The back yard is accessed through the twin bedroom and that is a bit inconvenient but manageable. The cottage could do with a few finishing touches, such as lights outside, door mats, but overall it was clean and comfortable."
