Overall, my husband and I had an excellent stay. We only stayed for one night for a quick weekend trip to Hakone and we decided to book a room with a private onsen. Pricey but it was a great experience. The room itself was modern and very comfortable, and the private onsen was very nice. We had a view of the hillside and river. We also enjoyed the public baths and foot bath. The breakfast buffet was pretty good too. Some of the public areas seemed a bit dated but the room was updated.
It was great. I think Covid made it not as pleasurable as it could have been. We saw the amenities that it had to offer but things were closed due to Covid. The surrounding area closes down at 4:30pm also which with check-in at 3pm didn’t make things very accessible.
The hotel room was ok, nothing special. It looked somewhat old and you could see the wear on the carpets in the hallways.
The onsen was really nice. If you like them, go here.
