"The room we had was very clean and very comfortable with large lockers. The location is great because it’s only about a 10 minute walk to the center of the city, to the Hotel de Ville (City Hall). There’s a very nice courtyard just off of the reception and bar area which is a great place to meet. The staff was really nice and very helpful so we thank them very much. The buildings in the area have a lot of graffiti, so at first it seemed a little sketchy. But it felt fine once we got acquainted with the area around the hostel. One thing to note: if you have a car, parking is very difficult and very expensive (55 Euros/day street parking, and 43 Euros/day for garage parking). I asked ChatGPT to tell me where there is free parking, and it said the ninth district has free parking on the street, so you’ll have to walk about 10 to 15 minutes. But you will save money."

"The manager was absolutely outstanding and helpful on our arrival and then again on our departure-he went beyond the call of duty walking outside to give us directions as an example. Our room safe was not working properly when we arrived and a maintenance person showed up and fixed the problem in under 20 minutes Great location in the center of town. A nice terrace bar where we also had breakfast an added bonus"

"What amazing people work at the Mercure Hotel in Lyon, France. My husband and I stayed there while traveling, and during our trip we were carrying 300 euros between us. I kept 100 euros in large bills separate from another 50 euros in small bills for tips. At some point, I realized the larger bills were missing, but I had no idea where or when I had lost them, so I just let my husband handle the tipping afterward. Soon after we returned home, I received an email from Expedia saying I had a credit of $132 from the Mercure Hotel in Lyon, with no explanation. Then it suddenly hit me — it must have been the 100 euros I accidentally left behind in our hotel room. I was truly touched by the honesty and kindness of the hotel staff. In today’s world, this level of integrity is rare and deeply appreciated. Thank you for making our stay not only comfortable, but also memorable for all the right reasons."

"The property is quite convenient to the train and airport (the Rhone Express shuttle was easy and cost effective). The room was small and clean. Be prepared to walk 45 minutes or so (or take a bus) to the old town, cafes and shops. The area around the property is quite barren other than the train station and mall. The staff were very helpful and kind."
