"It was a really nice hotel apart from the noise. They have music playing in the bar until gone midnight and it was very loud. Strangely it wasn't too bad in the living area but the bedroom area was awful so we slept really badly. We also had people talking loudly below our window and car horns tooting. Apparently some of the other rooms were ok but they are all doubles and we needed either a king size bed or a twin so the room we were in was our only choice."

"Firstly we enjoyed our stay. The room was brilliant in terms of having two double beds and a sofa bed all made up with loads of space for us all. It’s not often you find that much space and bed in one room. The price was good too. The rooms are dated and tired but there were no major issues for us. Not spotless but not dirty. We didn’t have breakfast so cannot comment. We did enjoy a family swim in the pool. Again the area is dated and not prefect but the pool was great and we had fun. They had ran out of locks for the male lockers so we did have to have our clothes in carrier bags in pegs poolside. Overall it’s not a ‘destination’ hotel any more. I could see that it absolutely once was. But…they do offer a good rate with good facilities and we did enjoy our stay. As a family of 5 we would stay again due to the pool and the room."

Well situated for all Buxton has to offer especially Opera House, Pavilion Gardens & restaurants. We live about 13 miles away and would always choose to stay at the Old Hall overnight when visiting the Opera House. Have stayed in various rooms and the beds have always been extremely comfortable. The breakfasts are ok but the hot food could do with being hotter! All things considered value for money."
