There were some big stains on our bed linens; the bathroom faucet ran brown, possibly rusty, water for the first 5 minutes after turning it on; they advertised a poolside bar but no one seemed to work there or know how to serve or charge for drinks. That said, the staff was kind, the location was perfect, and the breakfast was outstanding. "

The bathroom was very small and tiny and definitely needs an upgrade despite the room upgrade that we were promised. The Wi-Fi kept continually needing to be reconnected. "A grand old building in an excellent location, close to the railway station and Malioboro Street. And with a swimming pool, perfect for hot afternoons. The rooms were adequate but good value for the price I was paying for. However I did find some dirt on my pillow but I brushed it off. Also Western travellers should be warned that the are traditional Indonesian style bathrooms in the rooms. At least in my room, so a squat toilet with no toilet paper, or flush, and a cold shower. I didn't...
