"Rooms were comfortable. Good beds and duvets. Wonderful view! Staff were very approachable and pleasant. The breakfasts were good apart from the last day when no hot breakfasts available. We enjoyed a very nice evening meal but were disappointed there was no hot drinks available afterwards. Not easy to park for larger vehicles."

"Wonderful stay for our wedding anniversary. Beautiful building, immaculately maintained and decorated. Extremely friendly and helpful staff and superb breakfasts - awards for which are well deserved. If you’re fit it’s a 10 - 12 minute walk down into the town 20 minutes back (it’s a bit of a pull up the hill). Very highly recommended "

"What a wonderful place to rest your head whenever in the Keswick area. The owners go out of their way to make you feel very welcome even to the point of running me in to town. Portinscale lies on the banks of Derwent water and is ideally located for Keswick and the Western Lakes and a stay at the Dalegarth is highly recommended"

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Hermingston. It was ideally placed for our walks & the bus stopped just outside which was great. We visited 2 local pubs for meals that were recommend to us which were in walking distance & both were really good. Would definitely stay at the Hermingston again "
